Can't hear or see your coach or coachee?

When your camera or microphone/sound isn't working here are some troubleshooting steps that should get you up and running!

Compatible Browser

Google's Chrome browser is the preferred and most compatible option. While Safari, Firefox, and others may work, if you're having issues this may be the quickest way to solve them.

Other Running Software

Ensure that no other applications are using your microphone or camera. Close applications like Zoom or other video conferencing or recording software. Though they may not appear to be running, you can check your taskbar to make sure they are closed.

Ad-Blockers and Other Extensions

Web browser extensions such as ad-blockers and firewalls can cause issues with access to your camera and microphone. These vary in how they function, but typically you are able to click them and turn them off for the specific website you are on.

Browser Permissions

The first time you start the video conference system you will be prompted to grant the browser permissions to use the camera and microphone. You can check that your browser has permissions by clicking the lock icon in the address bar at the top and making sure camera and microphone use are both allowed:

Additional Troubleshooting on Windows

To access Windows settings click on the Start Menu, then the system settings (gear icon). From here you can ensure your microphone is setup and working by going to the "Sound" section where you can set and test your default microphone.

For the camera you can go to the "Camera" settings in the navigation and making sure that the section "Allow apps to access your camera" and making sure the toggle is set to "On". Additional in the section labeled "Choose which apps can access your camera" you can make sure that Chrome (or your default browser) is allowed access to the camera.

Additional Troubleshooting on OSX

You can ensure your browser has permission by clicking Apple icon in the top left of your screen, opening "System Preferences", then going to "Security and Privacy" and in the "Privacy" tab, ensuring that both camera and microphone have Chrome checked.
