Navigating SkillCycle

Understand how to navigate the platform and where to find what's important.

Written by Tori Coakley

New to SkillCycle? Your left navigation menu is home base for everything you'll do on the platform. This article walks through each section.

💡Tip: Start with Home Page, Aida, and Development first. These three cover most of what you'll need day-to-day.

Quick Reference: Your Navigation Menu

Page

What You'll Find There

Your starting point: quick access to the most important tasks and updates

Your AI coach and development sidekick (if available for your organization)

Your coaching and mentoring hub. Find a coach, complete a 360, schedule sessions

Set goals and track your progress

Request feedback from anyone in your organization with SkillCycle access

🏠 Home Page

Think of the Home Page as your personal dashboard. It's designed to guide you to your most important activities, so if you're ever unsure what to do next, this is where to go.

Your Home Page will show:

  • My Guides: Your manager, coach, and mentor (with quick links to select one if you haven't yet)

  • What's Next: A running list of tasks - surveys, assessments, self-evaluations, and more

  • Easy Access to Aida: Your Ai development tool

📝 Note: Every Home Page looks a little different, since it reflects the specific programs and tools your organization has enabled for you.

🧭 Aida

Aida (pronounced ADE-uh) is SkillCycle's AI-powered assistant. Think of Aida as your development sidekick - built to make growth simpler and more personalized.

Aida can:

  • Build tailored development plans based on your feedback and goals

  • Offer real-time, personalized learning suggestions

  • Recommend coaches for you, if you're enrolled in a coaching program

The goal: Aida handles the heavy lifting of translating feedback into next steps, so you and your manager can spend more time focused on your growth—not the logistics.

📄Development Page

This is your command center for coaching and mentoring programs. If you're enrolled in any of these, the Development Page is where you can:

  • Add participants to your 360

  • Complete your 360 self assessment

  • Select a coach

  • Schedule coaching sessions

How to Find a Coach

Available only if your organization sponsors a coaching program.

Look for the "Find a Coach" button in the "Up Next" section, within "My Programs," or on your Home Page.

💡 Tip: Once you've selected a coach, you won't be able to access the coach search page again.

The first time you search, you'll use the Coach Search Wizard to identify the skill areas you'd like to focus on. From there, you have a few ways to find your best match:

🏷️Coach specialty tags (pre-loaded in the search bar)

🪄Search Wizard

🔎Typing keywords into the search bar (including languages)

🧭Aida: Based on the feedback Aida digests, Aida can also provide you with coach recommendations, if you are enrolled in a coaching program.

Click View Coach on any profile to see more details, save them to your list, or schedule an interview. We recommend interviewing at least two coaches to find the right fit. Once you're ready, select your coach from their profile or your saved coaches list.

💡Tip: Here are some tips for finding the right coach for you!

Coaching Sessions

Once you have sessions or interviews scheduled, you'll find them in the "Up Next" section with the date and time. From there you can:

  • Join your session once it's time

  • Reschedule sessions (as long as they're more than 24 hours away)

  • Cancel if needed

360 Assessments and More

The "Up Next" section also surfaces action items like:

  • Completing your self-assessment

  • Adding participants for your 360 feedback

  • Completing surveys your organization has requested

My Programs Section

Here you'll see key details for each program you're enrolled in - duration, your chosen coach (or a link to select one), and 360 assessment management tools (adding participants, sending reminders, etc.).

📝Note: Expecting to be in a coaching program but don't see one? Reach out to your employer or Support to get set up.

Resources

Each program includes a Resources button with helpful materials, either uploaded by your organization or provided by default from SkillCycle:

  • On-demand micro-learnings (emotional intelligence, difficult conversations, giving feedback, etc.)

  • One-pagers to support conversations with your manager or team

  • The coach and coachee agreement, outlining the purpose of coaching and confidentiality terms

Saved Coaches

At the very bottom of your Development page is the Saved Coaches section. This section keeps a running list of every coach you've interviewed or favorited. You'll still be able to view this list after selecting a coach - though you can only actively work with one coach at a time.

🎯Performance

Here's where you'll manage your goals and track your progress. Depending on what your organization shares, you may also see company-wide performance and goal cycles or organizational competencies.

You can:

  • View your organization's performance and goal cycles (if shared)

  • View your organization's competencies (if shared)

  • Manage your professional and personal goals

  • Review completed surveys

🔁 Feedback

Getting feedback at multiple points throughout the year helps you stay on track with your goals. Our any-time feedback feature makes this easy - request or give feedback whenever it's useful, not just during formal review cycles.
